Samuel Coleridge once said, “Prose: words in their best order; poetry: the best words in the best order.” This beginning poetry class is intended to be a non-intimidating place that allows us to play with words, punctuation, space, ideas and anything else we can come up with. There will be no judgement, intimidation, or grading. Just fun and you may even discover something about yourself you never knew. Desire to laugh is not a necessity, but certainly a bonus!
Facilitator – Ruthie Campbell
After teaching high school English for 30 years, Ruthie lives in retired bliss along with her husband, Nye. Now that she has no reason to hide from poetry, she finds she doesn’t find it as intimidating as she once did and wants to show other writers that poetry can be fun – and cathartic – and tear invoking – and hilarious. Join us for creative explorations – you just may surprise yourself – and each other!
