Kaye Chatterton

Born at home in Utah in1942, in a tiny apartment, on the edge of an open pit copper mine. My Dad was a miner for 45 years. My Mother was told during a first grade parent teacher conference that I read with too much expression! “ run, run, oh look, see the ball”? I played the French horn from 7th grade til second year of college. I had a crush on the Band teacher.

I graduated from BYU,1964 English Major/History minor. I obtained a MSW in 1969 from the University of Utah.I was overjoyed to find a profession where they paid you to talk with people! Teacher, Social worker, Teacher Union President, Advocate, Lobbyist- Conflict management expert, Negotiations specialist, Director of Teaching and Learning for Utah Education Assn 10 years. Went adventuring .

At age 44, joined the United States Peace Corp-posted Fiji Islands 2 years as Community Organizer around Health and wellness.

Retired education field 2007. KCC Consulting (my own business 5 years).

Now 81 years young.  I am a daughter, a Mother of one daughter and Grandmother of three adult wonderful human beings.

A few words describe me: Curious…a seeker of the mysteries, perceptive. I am not always right, but never in doubt! A great listener, but if you put a quarter in me (encourage me) I can and will talk about anything and everything. I am by nature a positive person. Proof of that is that children and animals really like me. They are the best judges.

My facial wrinkles are definitely caused from smiling. I believe in possibilities and not fixed outcomes. I have lived a very interesting life. I have a wide range of stories to tell, like all the familiar favorites: Love/loss, try/fail, risk/rewards, success/failure, good choices/ bad decisions. I like you am a survivor. But now, most of all, I am grateful. Fortune has favored me, spirit continues to bless me. I have a different relation to time as an elder. I have acquired the long view of what it means to be human. I grasp my impermanence in visceral ways now. I am not done, but continue to grow. Still creating and wanting to leave some small hope and legacy. Join me and our wonderful group to explore the Journey of all women...Caw, Caw, it is time!
